Earth Day 
Clear Creek State Park

An earth day event was held at Clear Creek State Park on April 19, 2011 sponsored by North Central Math/Science Collaborative & Cook Forest State Park.  Representatives from Jefferson Conservation District, Jim Berry and Missy Buck, participated in this event.  Their  Station was about Soil and Agriculture.  Students learned how important soil is to each and every one of us and that Agriculture depends on soil for producing the food we eat as well as clothing, lumber, etc.
 
At other stations, the students learned about Estuaries, Tree Tales, A Groundwater Flow Model, Dragonflies, Reptiles/Amphibians, Soil Conservation, Abandoned Mine Drainage, and Old Growth Eco-Systems.  Some of the schools attending included Brookville, Clarion, Clarion-Limestone, East Forest, North Clarion, and Redbank School Districts.
