Farm Safety Days
May 13 & 14, 2010 - Jefferson County Fairgrounds
The Jefferson Conservation District participated
in Farm Safety Days sponsored by Penn State Cooperative Extension. Second grade students from Jefferson County School Districts
were bussed to the fairgrounds and rotated to 16 different stations related to safety. Jim Berry and Missy Buck manned the Animal
Safety Station. Safe ways of handling animals was discussed and children were able to pet various animals including a pony,
a horse, a calf, sheep, goats, and a rabbit named Mr. Theo.
Jean Wolfe and grandaughter Staci Wolfe brought a pony Jill to show the students.

Missy Buck and Mr. Theo were a hit with the students.
